Acknowledgments and Other Handshaking

I would like to thank Capt. Dan Gray of the U.S. Army for helping program, debug and write the final report for our semester project in parallel processing, which forms the core of this work. Dan is currently off at West Point teaching cadets the joys of Electrical Engineering. In his spare time he drives M1A1 tanks around in the desert.

And, of course, I would like to thank my adviser, Dr. John Board, and the other members of our research group at Duke, Bill Elliott, Nour Toukmaji Chris Humphres and Christophe Lambert who were all patient enough to sit down and explain to this clueless newbie what on earth a multipole was and what it was good for. Much of the low level code for DPMTA was stolen from their sources.

Finally, thanks goes out to Mark Nelson at UIUC who was the first soul daring enough to incorporate DPMTA into a real application, and provided invaluable feedback and patiently awaited my patches to the code.
