Matt Reynolds received S.B., M.Eng., and Ph.D. degrees from MIT, and was a Motorola Fellow at the MIT Media Lab from 1997-2002. Matt co-founded the RFID systems firm ThingMagic Inc. in 2000 and served as Chief Technology Officer from 2002-2007. He returned to academia as a Senior Research Scientist at Georgia Tech prior to joining the Duke faculty as an Assistant Professor in January 2008. Matt is also co-founder of the energy conservation firm uSenso Inc, acquired by Belkin Inc. in 2010, and has 9 issued and over 20 pending patents.

Prof. Reynolds' research interests include RFID and its applications to robotics and human-computer interaction, ultra-low power sensing and computation, parasitic power, and smart materials, surfaces, and spaces.
