I work is in a branch of electrical engineering called signal processing. Some of my projects have been in the field of image processing, medical imaging, and ocean acoustics.
			Decision and detection theory is the science of making informed decisions based on the avialable information. A set of acoustic signals or images can be used as the input to the decision algorithm.
